Carlos Alfonso Cunza Cano is Civil engineer with a solid track record in the construction sector, specializing in contract management, costs, planning, risks and disputes in infrastructure works.

He is a graduate of the National University of Engineering (UNI) and with completed studies of Master of Business Administration (MBA) by PUCP Center, has forged a career of more than 15 years participating in large-scale projects, particularly in works of sanitation (wastewater treatment plants, drinking water and sewage lines and networks) and roads.

During his career he has held key roles such as Contract Administrator, Planning and Cost Specialist, Technical Office Engineer and Valuation EngineerHe has worked in top-level companies and consortiums such as COSAPI, SADE-COSAPI, Constructora MPM, Consorcio Sullabella, Consorcio PTAP Calana, among others, demonstrating technical and strategic leadership in all phases of contractual execution of public works.

He has extensive experience in the contractual management of public works, which include the management of the communications, using tools such as workbooks (physical and digital), formal letters, minutes and technical reports. He has mastery of the regulations of State Contracts, and has specialized in the analysis and support of controversies before the Dispute Resolution Board (DRB), as well as in arbitrations related to deadline extensions, additional work, penalties, and other contractual claims.

He has led the contractual risk management, coordinating closely with multidisciplinary technical teams to mitigate contingencies in a timely manner and maintain adequate control and monitoring of risks that may impact contract execution, timelines, and costs of the project.

He has specialized in costs and budgets, with expert handling of the main work valuations, additional valuations, higher general expenses and legal interestLikewise, he has led the management of additional construction budgets, technically assessing their merits and financial justification. His solid technical ability to review, systematize, and present technical and financial documentation has allowed him to play a key role in the technical and financial closure processes of various infrastructure projects.

Widely dominates the management and control of construction schedules, performing detailed analyses of critical sequences, slack, and activities that directly impact contractual deadlines. He has consolidated experience in evaluating interferences, rescheduling, and deviations from actual progress. He is an expert in Preparation, review and technical support of deadline extension files, under criteria of causality, impact on the critical path and regulatory compliance.

  • He has served as Contract Administrator in MPM Construction Company, in the project Improvement and Expansion of the Drinking Water, Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment Systems for the José Gálvez Scheme, sector 315, and the Villa Alejandro Scheme in the districts of Villa María del Triunfo and Lurín, in the Province of Lima – department of Lima, ensuring the proper technical, economic and legal execution of the project in accordance with the contract guidelines.
  • He has been Contract Administrator at the Calana PTAP Consortium, in the project Work balance: Construction and Equipment of the New Drinking Water Treatment Plant in Calana (Tacna), responsible for the interpretation, application and enforcement of contractual provisions within the scope of the State Procurement Law and Regulations.
  • He has served as a planning and cost specialist in the Sullabella Consortium within the framework of the project Improvement of the Wastewater Evacuation, Treatment and Final Disposal System in the cities of Sullana and Bellavista, province of Sullana – Piura, Responsible for the preparation, analysis and support of monthly valuations, additional budgets and other relevant concepts in the execution of works. He has also been a contract administrator for the same project.
  • He worked as Contract and Subcontract Administrator in the Sade-Cosapi Consortium in the Expansion and improvement of the San Martín Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (Piura), Ensuring the proper execution of the work in accordance with the contract terms. He also led the management of subcontracts.
  • He has been a valuation engineer at the Sade-Cosapi Consortium in the project Expansion and Improvement of the Drinking Water and Sewerage System for the Pachacútec Macroproject in the Ventanilla District – Stages I and II, responsible for the correct formulation of the main, additional and major general expense valuations.
  • He was a technical office engineer at Cosapi in the projects Construction Services for Pioneer and Auxiliary Roads for the Las Bambas mining project and Clean Water Pipeline and Miscellaneous Works at the Antamina mine, responsible for preparing the supporting documents and calculations for the valuations of the work.
  • He has been a technical office engineer in Conciviles Peru, in the project Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Tocache – Porongo Bridge Detour Highway, section II: Pucayacu Bridge – Porongo Bridge, San Martín region, providing support in the formulation of deadline extensions, valuations for subcontractors, monitoring the work log, among other duties inherent to the position.
